A man was killed at a Sunshine Coast housing estate this morning when it appeared a truck struck the front of another vehicle. The man was found underneath the van and despite resuscitation attempts, he died at the scene.

Police Senior Sergeant Ian Hasted, duty officer in charge, said the incident happened at about 9.45am on Spinifex Street near Harmony Boulevard in the Harmony housing estate at Palmview.

He said investigations were ongoing and it was “too early to discuss charges”.

“The work by all the first responders was quite remarkable, it was obviously quite confronting and we will provide them all support needed,” Snr Sgt Hasted said.

“We will be seizing both vehicles to a secure compound.”

He said police officers were first on the scene and had to extricate the man “as best they could” to enable paramedics to begin revival efforts.

Police have advised they believe the stabiliser of the truck hit the van, pushing the van into the man.
